variety magazine has reported that directing legends peter jackson [the lord of the rings: trilogy, king kong] and steven spielberg [jaws, hook] have teamed to create a trilogy of tintin movies. the curious journalist and his little white dog have been a goal of spielberg for 25 years. no casting or production news has been announced.

house, the medical drama-comedy [or dramedy if you prefer modern day american colloquialism], will be reaching it’s third season finale in two weeks. if you don’t watch the show, you should. hugh laurie is amazing as the cynical reluctant protagonist, gregory house. whole seasons are available to rent at your local blockbuster!

last night, at midnight, microsoft announced halo 3 will be released two months early. september 25th is the new date that will harbor the beauty that is halo 3.

the new magneto movie, the first of many planned x-men sequels, is making progress. david goyer [blade:trinity, the invisible] is on to direct the movie that plans to bring a back story the films favorite anti-hero. the script has been written by sheldon turner [the texas chainsaw massacre: the beginning, the longest yard] and has been confirmed as having young versions of professor xavier and erik lensherr, the master of magnetism.

lionsgate films have obtained the licensing to make the film the spirit, based on the famous comic by legend will eisner. the script is set to be written by frank miller, the mastermind behind 300 and sin city.

for horror buffs, the survival horror game obscure is a rare and interesting title. the game focused on the ability to play as a number of main characters, all high school students that had different abilities. well our friends at dreamcatcher interactive, the publishers of painkiller, are allowing the french-based hydravision to produce a sequel that will appear nearly before the ps2’s graceful bowing out. it’s also rumored to making an appearance on the wii.

not much has been released but it is known that the game takes place two years after the original and the characters are now in college. look for it sometime this fall.
