this week in gaming!

August 16, 2007 at 2:01 am (geek speak)

this post marks a new beginning. from this blog on, my posts will be more friendly and less direct. the news will all still be there but i will be making more remarks and flaunting my opinions much more than previous posts.

games for all consoles

nascar

nascar08

hold x, left analog stick slightly to the left. repeat. the end.

madden 08

so madden 08 came out. with unusually lower scores than the last few years, i am not tempted to play it. at all. i may try it at a friends house or in a year when madden 09 makes it’s debut, but until then, i doubt i’ll touch the thing. it is the last game made for xbox and gamecube, so it’s somewhat of a milestone.

psp games

dungeon and dragons tactics

the game looks…bad. i suppose if you’re infatuated with the d&d franchise the game could possibly be intriguing. it’s a turn based strategy game with mediocre graphics and a silly storyline. but it does follow the dungeon and dragons 3.5 rule set to a strict precision. ooooh. what the fuck does that mean?

ps2 games

shin megami tensei: persona 3

the ps2 is at the end of it’s strong and vibrant life. it’s produced a number of exclusive hit titles. this is one of the last to bless the console before it dies later next year. the game is simply a gem. the third in the amazing persona trilogy it looks as though it will be the best in the series. a fun storyline with promising gameplay and amazing potential, it looks to be another hit from atlus.

fatal fury battle archives vol. 1

it’s fatal fury. again. but this time more of it. excited? me neither. i hate fatal fury.

wii games

boogie

boogie? a strange dance/singing game for the wii starring a cell shaded orange anemone shaped creature. well, although that premise is astounding i just don’t see the game being any good.

ds games

luminous arc

although atlus is putting the game out, it looks weak. it has a neat premise but it still seems lackluster. it has a less than stellar plot line and, unfortunately, just another tactics game.

rune factory: a fantasy harvest moon

described as harvest moon…with a sword. BITCHIN’! basically, if you love harvest moon, go for it.

notice anything? ps3 had NONE.

NONE.
